Courtney Miller
Manager of Education / Senior Instructor

Courtney is a native Texan, although she claims homesickness for Italy and Austria! She was gratefully enfolded in the world of yoga and alternative healing through Bekir Algan, her primary Iyengar teacher. Her teaching and personal study spans over a decade and living in Austin, she had the privilege to create and shape yoga programs, including the yoga component of the Mind/Body program at The University of Texas at Austin. In addition to her yoga practice, Courtney has studied at the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin, and through the graduate acting program at the University of Texas, she studied Alexander Technique, Pilates and Feldenkrais.

Courtney grew up in the fine arts, performing since the age of nine as a dancer for 10 years and playing classical guitar for 12 years. She ultimately earned a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Texas at Austin and has also studied in Italy and Austria. She has performed in operas professionally in the States as well as performing in Austri
a. She is the creator of The Drawing Room®, a salon format for fine art performances and an aspect of Spread Love Productions, of which she is founder. It was the promise of furthering her opera and singing career through The Drawing Room and other avenues, in addition to seeking a master teacher, that brought her to New York.

Courtney shares her first day as a New York resident with Universal Force’s opening day, Summer Solstice 2001! Within 3 weeks, the universe conspired with her intentions, as the universe will do, and she was teaching at Universal Force and soon after began her career as a student of Gurunam.

In Gurunam she has found all of the teachers she was seeking (and infinitely more!), and in Universal Force she has found a home and heart-centered community that blesses her with opportunities to learn, teach, heal and be healed-- to realize the Divine through service.
